Student Chancellor Award Winners Announced

SUNY Chancellor Robert L. King has recognized the University’s most outstanding students for 2004 with the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence, and four Geneseo students have earned the honor.

In all, 245 students from 61 SUNY campuses, representing five foreign countries and nine states, with an average grade point average of 3.74, were honored. Joanna Zieno of Fairport, N.Y., Marinda Wyant of Penn Yan, N.Y., Paul Weismann of Brandenberg, Germany, and James Rogers of Kenmore, N.Y., received the award.

In addition to grade point average, candidates for the Chancellor’s Award must have demonstrated significant contributions to the greater campus community. This year’s awards were presented at a ceremony at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, and more than 1,500 friends and family of the student award recipients attended the event. Each student received a framed certificate and a medallion.
