Students Inducted During 28th Annual Pi Sigma Alpha Ceremony

On April 2, the Political Science/International Relations Department honored many of its students at the 28th Annual Pi Sigma Alpha Inductions and Awards Ceremony. Approximately 41 guests, including faculty and students, attended the event, which was held at Peter’s Party Complex in Leicester, N.Y. President Christopher C. Dahl gave welcoming remarks at the ceremony.

Fourteen junior and senior political science majors were inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, by Chapter President Nicholas Robbins. They included James Cole, Marcy Eisenberg, Bridget Frey, Michael Hecker, Tre Jerdon, Schiller Joseph, Timothy Nicholson, Kathleen O’Neill, Sergio Saravia, Joanne Sieffert, Gregory Stoneberg, Michael Trupo, Lauren Werle and Lacey Zoller.

Erin Garlock inducted nine students into the International Relations Honor Society, Sigma Iota Rho. They included Kate Rose Bobseine, Joseph Cecere, Ilana Faber, Melissa George, Gregory Gonzalez, Nao Iwamura, Courtney Kraus, William McGuire and Jason Weaderhorn. The following International Relations Department awards were presented: Erin Garlock received the annual International Relations Outstanding Senior Award, Lisa Gardinier received the seventh Rose Alent International Relations Award, and Andrew Zimdahl received the Ambassador Apartments Outstanding International Relations Second Major Scholarship.

Political Science awards were presented as follows: the Alan Shank Outstanding Achievement Senior Award to David Knapp, the Edward Janosik Leadership Award to Sean Gavin and Joshua Hyman, and the Richard Wesley Awards for Outstanding Public Service Internship to Schiller Joseph and Kathleen O’Neill.

Professor of Political Science Kenneth Deutsch presented David Knapp and Kara Noto with the fourth annual Alumni Senior Award in Legal Studies.
