Summer 2005 CAMPUS NOTES Geneseo Alumni Honor Richard Bosco, Fellow Alumnus Killed on Sept. 11 In honor of SUNY Geneseo alumnus Richard Bosco, who was killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001, several Geneseo alumni and close friends of Bosco’s held a memorial golf tournament that raised more than $10,000 to support a student scholarship in the College’s Jones School of Business. The first annual Richard Bosco Memorial Golf Tournament was held on May 21 at the Livingston County (N.Y.) Country Club in Geneseo. Traci Bosco, Rich’s widow, his two children Richie Jr. and Abbey, his two brothers and his sister, his brother-in-law and his parents all traveled to Geneseo to participate in the event. A 1989 graduate of SUNY Geneseo, Bosco was an economics major while at college. According to friends and family, he looked forward to building a successful career in finance. His life and career were cut short while making a sales call at Cantor Fitzgerald on behalf of his employer, Citibank. “The scholarship will be awarded annually to a SUNY Geneseo student enrolled in the College’s School of Business who reflects the leadership qualities and potential for success that Rich exemplified,” said Matthew Hurlbutt of Rochester, a Geneseo alumnus who was a friend of Bosco’s.
